A great antique 18 carat yellow gold ring set with an oval blue sapphire and a round halo of nine old cut diamonds. The band is nice and thick. The diamonds are about 0.50 carat together (clarity SI/P1, colour: I/J. The beautiful blue sapphire has visible colour zoning and is about 0.65 carat. The ring is hallmarked on the inner shank for the city of Birmingham and the year 1921.
